If you don't have the space for a vegetable garden, you can grow many vegetables in containers.  Also, many vegetables can be integrated into your flower beds.  Some suggestions for container gardens include herbs, peppers, bush cucumber, bush squash, bush beans, lettuce, spinach, potatoes and many tomatoes.

Prevention is always a good idea with vegetables in your garden. To protect small seddlings and plants from cutworms, make a collar for the plant with a toilet paper tubes.  Cut the tubes into 2-3" heights and put the collar around each plant, inserting the tube 1/2" to 3/4" into the soil. The collars will protect your small plants from cutworms. As the plant grows, the tubes will decompose and your plants will be large enough that cutworms will not be a threat.

It's time to feed your Roses.  We recommend Rose Tone once month during April, May, June and July.
