Week of March 30th

When chrysanthemums show signs of life, dig up and divide large plants. Discard woody portions and replant divisions 12 to 15 inches apart.

It's time to plant cold hardy crops such as peas, beets, carrots, radishes, lettuce and spinach. Test your soil to make sure it has dried enough to plant. To test your soil, take a handful and squeeze. It should crumble apart in your hands.  Vegetables can also be planted in containers.
