Week of April 13th

Just as we need a coat or sweater when it's cooler outside, warm season crops such as cucumbers, pumpkins, squashes, tomatoes, basil and peppers would prefer to stay nice and toasty inside until the weather warms up.

Easter Lilies can be enjoyed for years in your garden. When you are done enjoying your Lily inside, plant it in your garden. Let the foliage die back naturally. In future years, it will bloom in mid summer for you.

Hybrid Teas Roses need to be pruned in early Spring before new growth begins. Cut to the ground any dead canes to approximately 14-16 inches. Be sure to shape the bush as you trim. Its a good time to start your fertilization program for the season as well. We recommend a formulation such as Espoma Rose Tone (6-6-4). This exceptional rose food helps promote abundant blooms.

Feed your broadleaf evergreens with a fertilizer especially formulated for acid loving plants such as Holly Tone.
